WorkWell Learning Networks: The mental health and wellbeing revolution set to sweep Geelong workplaces


As part of a ground-breaking new initiative funded by WorkSafe’s WorkWell Program, The Give Where You Live Foundation has launched an exciting new knowledge-sharing network.

WorkSafe’s WorkWell Learning Networks aim to promote mental health and wellbeing and prevent mental injury & illness by changing workplace cultures and practices.

The Give Where You Live Learning Network will connect mental health experts with employers and workers in small-to-medium enterprises across the G21 Region, to share best practice information and ideas around mental health and safety at work.

This will create workplaces that protect the mental health and wellbeing of all – primarily its more vulnerable younger workers (aged 15 -24 years).

The Learning Network will align with the objectives of G21 Region Opportunities for Work (GROW), initiated in 2015 by Give Where You Live Foundation and G21 Geelong Region Alliance, to create stronger and more sustainable employment in the G21 Region.


The WorkWell Learning Network will secure protect mental wellbeing in Geelong’s workplaces.

  • And many other 140 GROW Compact Signatories.

As Network Chair, our focus will be supporting small-to-medium businesses across the G21 Region as they co-design tools and strategies to change cultures, policies, systems and behaviours to protect and promote mental health.

Give Where You Live Foundation Chief Executive Officer Bill Mithen has said that “We are excited to be part of this new program, developing mentally safe and healthy environments for young employees, using an innovative co-design approach.

We know that small and medium enterprises drive the local economy, and this is our chance to help build the capacity of these workplaces to create environments where employees can thrive.”
