GROW celebrates graduation for Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre

We are excited to celebrate the first 12 Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre Early Engagement Social Procurement (GEESP) program participants as they graduate with a Certificate II in Construction Pathways.

The GEESP program is a unique initiative co-designed by the Give Where You Live Foundation’s GROW initiative, Development Victoria, social enterprise gforce employment + recruitment and delivered by Built. as the head contractor for the Plenary Group consortium on the Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre project.

The program aims to create dedicated pre-employment training and construction apprenticeship pathways for people facing barriers to employment. Participants are provided 12 weeks of training through The Gordon TAFE before starting supported full-time employment as apprentices or trainees hosted by a range of subcontractors on the project.

We look forward to watching these participants forge a rewarding career thanks to this amazing opportunity.
